HISTORIC BARN TOUR

  • Saturday, September 12th, 2026

  • 10am - 4pm

Experience the beauty, history, and agricultural heritage of Hancock County during the Hancock Historical Museum's Historic Barn Tour. This popular self-guided tour invites visitors to explore a collection of 6 historic barns and farmsteads that have helped shape the region's rural landscape for generations.

Each featured property offers a unique opportunity to learn about the architecture, craftsmanship, and family stories behind some of Hancock County's most significant agricultural landmarks. From hand-hewn timber-frame barns to century-old farm buildings, visitors will gain a deeper appreciation for the people and traditions that built our farming community.

In addition to touring historic barns, guests will enjoy a variety of activities throughout the day, including antique tractors and farm equipment, artisan demonstrations, local vendors, live music, food concessions, agricultural exhibits, and family-friendly activities.

New for 2026, one tour stop will host a special antique aircraft fly-in, featuring vintage airplanes on display and offering visitors a rare chance to experience two important pieces of rural history—historic barns and historic aviation—in one memorable location.

Whether you're a history enthusiast, farmer, architecture lover, photographer, aviation fan, or simply looking for a unique day in the countryside, the Historic Barn Tour offers something for all ages.
