American Flag

You know the American Flag! The American flag has 50 stars representing all 50 states in the United States today and 13 red and white stripes to represent the original 13 colonies that declared independence from Briain in 1776 – 250 years ago! The mural at Brucklacher Memorial Park was created in celebration of America’s 250th birthday, called our semiquincentennial (can you say that? It is pronounced SEM-ee-kwin-sen-TEN-ee-ul)

But! The flag isn’t on our mural just because of America’s semiquincentennial! Did you know Findlay is known as Flag City, USA? We were awarded the titled by the US House of Representatives and have proudly been Flag City since 1974. You can read more about Findlay’s Flag City Story here!
